BRICK ETCHING DEVELOPMENT
Week 06 Group Cruise Ship to Cablecar 01
ENGRAVING PROTOTYPES
Earlier brick engraving concepts, using the existing infrastructure of the Cable Car sign/sculpture and Cable Car branding for the logo.
Below are some further developments of the brick engravings, exploring typefaces that encompass readability that are of a blocky nature to resonate with the Cable Car's design itself.
The results were disappointing, as the brick we used for the sandblasting, was a composite of clay and concrete. This did mean the areas of relief from the sandblasting were a different colour to the rest of the brick, however the consistency of this type of brick does not allow for very much detailing (large rock-like composition).
